Hello Nneka,

I am from Johannesburg, South Africa. I am passionate about celebrating female-entrepreneurs, especially black female entrepreneurs.

After experiencing deep loss and navigating grief in the last two years - right now, I am most grateful for moments where I am laughing out loud. You know that deep from your belly-tears rolling down your face-can't breathe type of laughter.

One of the reasons I follow your work is just how deeply in-tune you seem to be with yourself, so I am most looking forward to experiencing more of that through your work so I too, can be nudged and inspired to be more of me.

hi Nneka, and hello to the fellow strangers of the newsletter. my name is Ayanda. i'm from Johannesburg, South Africa. right now i'm grateful for the new lens i've chosen to see the world through - one that's not limited by things of old. i'm most looking forward to living more, loving more, shooting more 35mm film (despite the ridiculous prices 🥲) and writing more, to immortalise this life i've been entrusted with. thank you always for sharing Nneka!

Hi Nneka! Hi everyone! My name is Chineze. I currently reside in Columbus, OH — where I’ve lived for most of my life, although I still refuse to claim to be *from* here lol. Today, I’m grateful for the gift of creativity: the ability to repurpose moments and memories in a way that brings beauty to even the unbeautiful realities of life. And so, I’m looking forward to being inspired, challenged, reminded, provoked, and most likely dragged by my edges through your compelling stories and videos, Nneka! Happy to be here! 💕

Greetings Nneka,

My name is Shakel (think Chanel but with a ‘K’ instead of an ‘N’). I currently reside in Washington, D.C. but grew up in the Los Angeles & Las Vegas areas.

In this present moment, I am grateful for my tribe – the people who bring light into my times of darkness, the ones that pour into my cups when empty, the ones who have shown me a healthy and holistic definition of love, the ones who are still to ground me when I waiver.

I’m looking most forward to clarifying my desires in order to bring them to fruition. And I’m currently on that journey - it’s one full of inconsistency, emotional rollercoasters, and all of the things that are uncomfortable. But it’s also allowing me to be still, humbled, and the most secure that I’ve ever been.

Hiii Nneka 🤍,

My name is Kendra and I am from Johannesburg, South Africa.

I’m grateful for my life and that of my loved ones.

I’m most looking forward to creating more than I consume and realising my potential. I’m looking forward to learning and making all the ideas that linger in the corners of my mind a reality.

I listened to your podcast episode on ‘The Black Girl Flow’ and man, I can’t tell you how much that episode impacted me. For the longest time, I’ve been trying to figure out my ‘pivot’ and how I want to show up as a creator and everything clicked after I listened to that episode.

Thank you for being so generous with your work, it has inspired me for years.

Hi Nneka, my name is Doreen and I'm a Nigerian, currently living in the city of Lagos.

I'm still trying to learn more about myself and find my footing in this world, so I'm sorry I don't really have much to say about myself, but hopefully that would change and the next time you ask for an introduction, you would be met with a full blown note😂.

I'm honestly a big fan of your works, I love how creative you are, how beautiful yet authentic your message is and your perspective on life as a whole. I am looking forward to a lot of things but most especially emulating and learning from you.

Hiii Nneka!! I love the creative direction this is going! My name is Affeia and i’m a working piece of “art”. I am grateful for the moments when I get those little happy feelings in the pit of my stomach that makes me reflect and think “wow, life is such a beauty” or “people are just an experience and we should experience them”. I started journaling and I don't think it's my particular trade, but I do enjoy the reflections it brings to me. Like,(brag here) - I finally made the decision come hail or high water that i’m going into medicine. The experiences since my decision has been interesting...i’m about to quit one of my first big girl job..to teach both the job and myself that I am never stuck, tangent here.. Grateful for the reflections that made me zone in and realize the beauty of the human experience and it tethers me to lean on forgiveness or understanding of most actions/incidents/situations that bothers me. (sometimes this comes after I have spiraled and got the anger off my chest-verbally 😂😂).
